"Book Forum"

The "Book fever" Flashmob

GOALS:

  • To attract public attention to a problem of "non-reading" in Ukraine
  • To gather a record quantity of simultaneously reading people in one place
REALIZATION:
  • Use of a maximum number of social networks to attract a considerable quantity of people (Odnoklassniki.ru, vkontakte.ru, ICQ, MSN, Skype, Qip, blogs, personal journals)
  • Use of a green color as a distinctive sign of flashmob participants
RESULTS:
  • More than 300 persons read books, sitting on a dividing strip near the Square of Independence in Kiev
  • About 100 persons read books, sitting in a semicircle near the Lviv National academic opera and ballet theatre of S.Krushelnitska
  • Publications concerning the action in daily social editions, and also on national TV (1+1) were provoked
  • Agiotage on the event in the Internet (a considerable quantity of people were discussing the flashmob in the internet, spreading the photos and video topics from action)
